Manchester United may still be progressing as a side but it’s been almost impossible to discern over the last few weeks.
Louis van Gaal’s team has been getting results but in a very workmanlike and unspectacular fashion.
And with Jurgen Klopp affecting such efficient changes in the space of a few weeks at Liverpool, Manchester United fans are getting even more restless in the face of LvG’s famous ‘process’.
WBA will be a difficult and stubborn opponent having conceded almost as few goals as United this season.
But Manchester United fans will be looking for an early goal and the sort of attacking onslaught which became a weekly occurrence under the ingenious tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ultimately this one may well turn out to be another real slog, but one that should see Manchester United come out on top.
