Tough match

Bournemouth vs Tottenham, The Premier League, Vitality Stadium, Sunday 25th October, Kick Off 14:05 Local Time

TOTTENHAM: Lloris (c), Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Alli, Dier; Dembele, Eriksen, Lamela; Kane

BOURNEMOUTH: Boruc, Francis, Cook, Distin, Daniels, Ritchie, Gosling, Surman, Pugh, King, Murray.

We have been long-term admirers of Mauricio Pochettino and think that Daniel Levy may well have finally stumbled on the perfect solution for Tottenham.

The young manager is efficiently building a team with youth, pace and flair.

It is of course a work in progress but to see exciting youngsters like Alli, Kane and N’Jie in the squad gives us a sense that Tottenham are definitely moving in the right direction again.

And, when these players blossom, Tottenham should be in a financial position where they don’t have to sell unless the player in question is begging for a move.

But with the new stadium not far away Tottenham will soon be able to compete with Arsenal in terms of cache and it will be an even more appealing place for players to do their thing.

So with a top manager and a top stadium on the way Tottenham just need to keep winning.

Bournemouth have been plucky this season but still hover perilously above the drop zone with 8 points and we wonder whether they will the quality up top, over the course of the season, to stay in The Premier League.

Today should provide a good barometer of where both teams are right now.
