The name of ‘Hazard’ of course carries great kudos in Premier League circles.
Chelsea have seen Eden blossom into one of the leading lights in England over the last few years.
They did however let one of his brothers, Thorgan, leave for Borussia Monchengladbach last summer for around £5.9m.
But such has been his form at his new club that he is drawing interest from Tottenham according to reports.
The Daily Mail states:
Tottenham had scouts at their match with Juventus on Wednesday night, the second time they have watched the Bundesliga side in recent weeks.
Hazard was a target for Tottenham while at Lens, prior to joining Chelsea, and the attacking midfielder remains on their list of potential targets.
At 22 Thorgan doesn’t quite have the pace of his brother. In fact he has a different skill set. But one which is still very interesting.
He’s a diminutive atacking midfielder who tends to play more through the middle and has been known to score some brilliant goals.
He made his debut for Belgium in 2013 but hasn’t managed to add to that tally of caps since.
For our money, Hazard could be likened to Christian Eriksen and may be competing for the same spot in the side were he to join Tottenham.
But if Spurs are to compete in Europe every season they are going to need to keep building that squad and make it deeper.
To that end, Hazard may well be worth a punt.
Let’s see him in action.
Tottenham fans: good enough to make a difference?
