He’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s becoming ever more apparent that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal thinks that Thomas Muller could be worth the money, whatever the fee.
The Daily Mail reports:
Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has sent a clear message to Manchester United – stop emailing about Thomas Muller.
And they quote Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as saying:
‘I told my colleagues at Manchester United: “I cannot close down my email account, but you no longer need to send me anything. It is useless.”’
Muller certainly has the sort of CV that would have a place at most top clubs. But we wonder whether Louis van Gaal is barking up the wrong tree with the German international forward.
The Dutchman has an excellent record in the transfer market at Manchester United but the idea of spending so much Muller is at odds with many United fans.
He would doubtless improve the squad but he doesn’t exactly get bums off seats with mesmeric footwork or sensational acceleration.
And, with Bayern standing firm on this one we may well never find out if he would be a hero at Manchester United.
Let’s have another look at the 25 year old in action. Manchester United fans: is he really the Gaalactico that the club needs?
