With Louis van Gaal set to give his press conference shortly, we should have confirmed absentees for the Wolfsburg game on Wednesday evening at Old Trafford, on Matchday 2 of The Champions League.
But, in an interesting portent of what may be to come, Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick and Marcos Rojo all missed Manchester United training this morning.
Rojo was expected to be out but the other absentees will cause some concern amongst the Manchester United faithful.
Some may have sat out of the session at Carrington for precautionary reasons but, with injury problems in defence already, Louis van Gaal can ill afford another one to Valencia.
In more positive news, Paddy McNair did train with the first team after apparently recovering from a recent knock.
As for the midfield, Carrick and Herrera would be big misses but the Manchester United boss now has a wealth of options in there and could comfortably start with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin against the German side.
Marouane Fellaini will also be desperate for more minutes but may have to be patient as Louis’s team has found some momentum at last.
We will update you throughout the afternoon with teams news after the press conference, which is set for 15:30 BST.
