What we really want to see, after another mind bogglingly good performance, is a start for Manchester United’s new hero Anthony Martial.
Indeed Louis van Gaal may well decide that the more game time the youngster gets, at this stage, the better – he is only 19 after all and can run all day without even breaking a sweat at that age.
But, with precious little depth up top for Manchester United, we expect James Wilson to be the furthest man forward in The Capital One Cup fixture against Ipswich on Wednesday evening at Old Trafford (Kick Off 20:00 local time).
Wilson looked likely to go on loan, at least for the first three months of the season.
But with only Rooney and Martial up top, Wilson has stuck around and may yet have a big part to play in this campaign.
Either way he needs minutes and that can be said for a raft of other squad members such as Sergio Romero, Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira, Ashley Young, Paddy McNair and Marouane Fellaini.
The same could be said for Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo.
But their importance to the current first team (with Shaw injured long-term and Darmian having a bit of a dip) may preclude their involvement this time.
We expect a mix of youth and experience and Louis now has such a strong squad that the team will be competitive, whoever he picks.
So here is our realistic XI for what should be an entertaining encounter at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
