Reus? Griezmann? When will Manchester United wake up to their attacking deficiencies?

Reus: Special

What is going on?

Ok. There is a week to go and Manchester United look nowhere near signing a forward.

Louis van Gaal is supposed to be a great coach and tactician.

But surely he can see that Manchester Unted simply aren’t going to win anything this season if they don’t sign another top winger.

This team is solid in defence and midfield but continues to struggle where it comes to breaking opponents down.

It’s partly down to LvG’s style of play – perhaps it’s a bit pedestrian for The Premier League.

But his decision to play Mata wide right is increasingly hard to understand. One of the obvious reasons is that Manchester United don’t have a top right winger.

So what are they doing about it?

Very little as far as we can see.

Sadio Mane is an excellent player but he should have been just part of the attacking solution.

Memphis can become a superstar but to expect him to win games every week at 21 is fanciful. He needs help.

Manchester United need, at the very least, one more top addition in this window if they are going to get anywhere near Manchester City this season.

They could probably use two and we think that, with all other top options seemingly unavailable, they should pay whatever is necessary and sign Marco Reus and Antoine Griezmann.

These two are creative, quick and score goals. They would both be superb Manchester United players and they could interchange with Memphis in a blur of movement behind Wayne Rooney, who remains a top striker but needs pace and service around him.

Manchester United have a week to make big changes. Because they simply aren’t going to challenge City or Chelsea with their current forward line.

Manchester United fans: is the current squad good enough?

Man Utd need a new striker to take the burden of Rooney – the likes of Neymar and Bale both seem a million miles of United’s reach. United should definitely go in for either Reus and Griezmann but i don’t see that happening – because Mr Woodward is twisting Van Gaal’s mind in believing he could pull off a Neymar or Bale. I would be morebthan contend if we went out and signed one off Reus/Greizmann and Ibrahimovic!

Comment: I have been saying this for quite sometime now. Griezmann and Reus would be the perfect signings for Manutd. They would be a long time investment. Three ( Memphis Griezmann & Reus ) creative, very quick goal getters who can play in any forward position. Imagine the impetus it would give to our attacking fire power. Manutd must definitely sign Reus and Griezmann before the transfer window deadline, whatever the cost.
