22 goals in 37 league games: The best player that Manchester United can sign at this point of the window

It’s been another dramatic transfer window for Manchester United, almost as much with signings as the ones that got away.

It does make you wonder how much of a plan Manchester United, and other such clubs have in the summer market.

Do they have a set list of targets at the start of the summer – if so why was Sadio Mane not signed in June – or are they working in a reactive way to the market as opportunities arise by the day and week?

It’s a real conundrum and one which we may never fully understand.

What is clear is that, despite a perfect start to the season in terms of results, Manchester United could really use some extra edge up a top – a proper, top class addition to help the forward line fire.

We can’t see a better option right now, for that right wing berth than Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid.

He won’t be cheap but has a release clause in his contract which states that he is available for 80m Euros (£56m).

Manchester United don’t seem scared to spend big when the right man is available. And with 22 goals in 37 league games for the Spanish outfit last season, he really ticks all the boxes as a player who can cut in from the right wing with his stronger left foot.

In fact he can play on the left flank, in the hole or (as is becoming increasingly common with left-footers), on the right flank.

He obviously knows where the goal is and also creates a lot for his team mates with his direct style and game intelligence.

At 24 years of age this would be a top long-term investment so the fee would be offset by his longevity at Manchester United.

There have been murmurs of a move for the lad to Manchester United this week and we wonder whether this one will snowball over the coming days.

That is debatable but, for our money, there is no debate about his quality.

This guy would be a top player for Manchester United.

Let’s see him in action.

To me,i prefer man utd to sign mane and 1 CB. he has played in premiership and knws what itd takes to shine.EPL is not an easy one. I am sure that united wont regret not signing pedro, because he cant survive the preasure of EPL.
