It’s a bit of a strange one this.

No one seems to know for sure whether Manchester United are indeed interested in signing Argentine international Nicolas Otamendi.

Some areas of the media think it’s on while other sources suggest that there has been no interest at all in the player from Manchester United.

Our thoughts? With Sergio Ramos off the table, Otamendi seems like the perfect option for Manchester United.

Even though Chris Smalling and Daley Blind are yet to concede a goal this season, they haven’t yet been tested by a top club and Otamendi could be the man for the job at the business end of the season.

Wherever his destination he does seem set to move clubs, according to Spanish media outlet, AS.com:

Nicolás Otamendi’s departure from Valencia appears to be inching closer and closer. AS reported on Thursday that Valencia manager Nuno had not played Otamendi with a probable first 11 in a training practice match ahead of the Champions League qualifier against Monaco next week.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in acquiring Otamendi’s services.

We feel that Manchester United should add one more heavyweight defender this summer and the available talent doesn’t come much better than this lad.

With his no-nonsense defending he seems perfect for The Premier League and, despite his hefty price tag, we think that he would be worth every penny.

Manchester United fans should see a resolution to this one pretty soon.

Manu need to sign One world class defender, winger and striker. Let Mata or Hererra handle number 10 on pitch. Caution all the players to be mobile, releases ball on time and fast and especially Rooney. Januanzja like hanging on ball unnecessary. Watch Nemyar and Suarez. Rooney is dropping seriously!
