Friday fun – pub brawls aplenty

Fans of the club will want to envisage Manchester United sitting on top of the league tonight, with six points in the bag and a first away win of the season.

But, when you consider Manchester United’s last performance and then factor in the added cockiness of a side managed by Tim Sherwood, it might be easier said than done.

Aston Villa have signed 9 players this summer – a fact which could go for or against them in this one. Because, to an even greater extent than Manchester United, the new look Villa team will take time to settle.

Recent history would suggest that Manchester United will come away with something – they are unbeaten in 19 league visits to Aston Villa since you’ll never win anything wi kads in 1995.

But Aston Villa have beaten Manchester United, on their own patch, in 2009 with a winner from Gabby Agbonlahor when David de Gea was still a worryingly scrawny kid in goal for United at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have a largely fit squad to pick from. Phil Jones is out with thrombosis and Marcos Rojo – who we feel is set for a massive season at centre back – isn’t yet match fit after his Copa America exertions. Bastian Schweinsteiger may have to wait until The Champions League game on Tuesday for his first competitive start, while Mazza Fellaini is serving the second of a three match suspension.

As for Aston Villa Jack Grealish and Carles Gil are training but not match fit.

So this is how we think Louis will line up the team:

We are expecting a better performance from Manchester United, as they start to look sharper in every department. Results are key at this stage of the season. A win and the momentum could really start to pick up. A draw and Manchester United will end up battling for fourth again come May.
