We are all waiting eagerly to see how Mauricio Pochettino will act in the market this summer.

We think that the Tottenham boss has done brilliantly in offloading the likes of Paulinho and Capoue for notable sums of money.

And he’s also bought really well with Kieran Tripper and the excellent Toby Alderweireld.

But you have to assume that Tottenham will be in for more creative talents this summer as well – a midfielder and striker wouldn’t go amiss.

Reports today in the French media suggest that Tottenham are very keen on an excellent young midfielder and that his club may consider the offer despite wanting to hold on to the lad.

The highly respected L’equipe reports:

Jordan Veretout (22 years), under contract until June 2017, is eagerly courted by Tottenham and other Premier League clubs.

Spurs are even ready to offer 15 million euros (£10.6m) to secure the services of the international.

The 22 year old hasn’t yet made his debut for the French international squad – which has fierce competiton for places in the midfield – but he has played 9 times for the U21s and is widely tipped for a stellar career.

He’s already played 78 times for his club Nantes, scoring 8 goals and making 14 assists.

Veretout

He’s exactly the sort of diligent pass master that Tottenham must surely be on the look out for this summer an we think that he looks like he would be a fine addition to a squad which is suddenly a little light on numbers in the engine room, with only Nabil Benataleb, Ryan Mason and Moussa Dembele on the front line right now.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action.

Tottenham fans: do you like the cut of his jib or would you rather sign a more experienced, household name?

Looks average at best and certainly not worth £10.6m for me but I am not Paul Mitchell or Mauricio Pochetino and I simply watched a 4 minute compilation on YouTube and they have the famous black box that can call up any minute of any game the boy has played so I am sure they are privy to a lot more info and know what to look for. So in Poch and Mitchell I trust but this is also pure speculation at this point so we have no idea if they are really looking at Veretout or not.
