With the highly exciting Manchester United vs Barcelona fixture to come tonight we are reminded that, while Barca aren’t permitted to officially sign anyone until January – due to their transfer ban – Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will still feel that he has much to do in the market before the window closes.
We feel that Manchester United need to add a world class centre back and a winger as a matter of priority.
The defensive targets would appear to be limited now to two.
And while there remains a chance that Sergio Ramos will join Manchester United this summer, we feel that a move for Nicolas Otamendi would be the wisest course of action right now.
He won’t come cheap but, even if Manchester United do sign Ramos, they should take the Argentinian too. At 27 he’s a rock for Argentina and had a sensational first season at Valencia, scoring 6 goals in 38 appearances.
SkyBet now have Manchester United as odds on favourites, at 1/2, to sign him before the end of the window.
And the other player who seems increasingly likely to join Manchester United it Barcelona forward Pedro.
We reported earlier on suggestions in the press that Manchester United had agreed terms with Barcelona for the signature of the lad and we should get some concrete news pretty soon on this one.
He is currently at 4/7 to sign for United before the September 2rd deadline.
Let’s see Otamendi in action.
Manchester United fans: Ramos or Otamendi?

Manunited have not made the right signings yet. It will end up the same as the last two years. They desperately need to strengthen defence and a striker force. They need to pay like Chelsea and City for top quality players. Right now we the 5th best team behind Liverpool.

Comment: Dis current man utd team is as awful as dat of last season if Van Gaal is reluctant to signing a striker n a defender.
