One of the reasons that we so like Everton manager Roberto Martinez is his sense of adventure and love of giving youth a chance.
John Stones and Ross Barkley have certainly benefited from this policy and Everton appear to always be on the look out for young talent that can make an impression on The Premier League.
And, in terms of wow factor, they would be doing very well to bring Barcelona youngster Alen Halilovic to the club this season.
According to The Daily Mail, the youngster could well be shipped out on loan this season, in order to gain much needed experience, and Everton could make a move.
Barcelona consider loaning out Alen Halilovic as Premier League duo West Ham and Everton are placed on high alert
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is monitoring events as are Everton.
The 19 year old Croatian attacking midfielder, who has already played 7 times for his country, has only played 1 in the cup for the Barcelona first team and the prospect of him getting minutes this season look bleak again.
Everton could certainly use his sense of invention and, although he would have a bit part role at Goodison, he’d surely get more minutes than at El Camp Nou.
Even if the loan didn’t work out we think he would be worth a punt.
His wages would be relatively nominal and he could provide the creative spark that Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu did when he came in on loan a couple of years ago.
Let’s see the lad in action.
Everton fans: keen to see what he can do?
