Real Madrid’s main summer signing?

Dynamo

Real Madrid have been strangely quiet in the market so far this summer. While normally they fill the back pages of newspapers around the globe, at this time of the year, the hype is nowhere near as intense so far this summer.

The best conclusion that we can draw at this stage is that new Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez is taking a proper look at his squad before making a marquee signing.
Not that any top manager should need time to assess a squad full of household names.

But the latest swell of rumours in England has suggested that Real Madrid could attempt to make the brilliant midfield dynamo, Arturo Vidal, their main summer capture.

Sky writes today that:

Reports from Chile have claimed he has already agreed a five-year deal with Real Madrid

But their latest news on the situation is that:

Juventus have not yet received a formal offer for the former Bayer Leverkusen man.

They also quote Gazette dello Sport, who say that the player is seen as ‘non-transferrable’ by Juventus.

We have heard this many times in the past of course, before Real Madrid have eventually signed up the player in question.

And if they do decide to prioritise the signing of Vidal, it’s difficult to see him not being a hit. At 28, he’s completely recovered from the knee injury which kept him out of the game for almost a season.

Vidal - what an athlete

Vidal – what an athlete

He has just ‘driven’ Chile to success in The Copa America and we think that he is probably ripe for a move at this stage of his career, possibly to replace Luka Modric?

Let’s take look at the lad in action. Real fans: a good addition?
