Manchester United never make things easy for themselves on or off the pitch do they?
Going 3-0 down before winning the game in the final minutes wasn’t an unusual event under Sir Alex and nor were the painfully protracted transfer pursuits.
And we wonder how many more trees will be cut down and printed on before the futures of Sergio Ramos and David de Gea are sorted out.
We pray, for the sake of our sanity, that it doesn’t go on all summer, a la Sneijder in 2012. But Sergio Ramos has spoken about his future publicly for the first time and it seems that we will have to wait for some time yet for this one to be resolved.
Sergio Ramos broke his silence by speaking to ‘Canal Cuatro’ television: “I’m not negotiating with anyone”, said the Real Madrid central defender when asked about negotiations over his future.
We are still in a complete state of flux about this deal. Usually we have a good idea of whether a big move is going to happen. But this one keeps surprising us.
We assumed it was all a load of hand bags before a new contract was thrashed out for the lad at Madrid. That may well still happen of course.
But respected news outlets keep stating that the player isn’t prepared to negotiate with Madrid and is insistent on a move to Manchester United. Marca said yesterday:
Sergio Ramos is determined to leave Real Madrid.
We won’t believe it until we see him wearing the red of Manchester United – and even then we will feel as if it’s just a particularly vivid dream.
But it’s clearly going to be one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer.
