So Chelsea have done a deal for Radamel Falcao, which should put an end to their interest in forwards for the summer – unless of course Loic Remy leaves the club.
But the focus should now be on the defence and midfield. To that end, we sense that Chelsea are on the look out for another central defender. With John Terry in his late autumn years and Zouma still a baby, Chelsea may look to bring one more player in to that area of the squad.
And the agent of Germany international, Antonio Rudiger, has confirmed Chelsea’s interest in the player. Sahr Senesie said:
“I know of interest from Wolfsburg and Chelsea”
But he also added that the defender would prefer to continue his development in Germany. At 6ft 3in the 22 year old has already played 6 times for the national team – no mean feat when you consider the quality in the squad of the world champions.
He’s really mobile for his height and also has great technique, as you would expect from a German from their current golden generation.
Rudiger moved from Borussia Dortmund to Stuttgart in 2011 and has been a regular, since forcing his way into the side, with 35 appearances and two goals last season. He looks like a great prospect and perhaps Chelsea won’t take no for an answer with this guy.
Let’s take a look at him in action. Chelsea fans: a top buy?
