Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck will only get you so far before another solution is needed. Because, while they are both impressive players, they aren’t of the quality required to get into the very best sides in Europe.
Arsenal will have to address their front line this summer and reports today have thrown up a very exciting suggestion. The Daily Mail reckons:
Arsenal are once again considering a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they weigh up strikers for next season.
Manager Arsene Wenger wants someone who can guarantee them 20 goals or more.
We have long opined that Arsenal need to sign a specialist number 9 along the lines of Karim Benzema or Gonzalo Higuain. While Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is perhaps more of an adaptable all-rounder – he can play in various positions across the front line – he did score 25 goals in 46 games for a serious struggling Borussia Dortmund in a proper league last season – that’s no mean feat.
At 26, he’s mobile, pacy and explosive. But he’s also got a really cool finish on him – a quality which elevates him from the status of a pacy wide player to something more central to the team.
Arsenal may still decide that they want to go for more of a goal hanger next seaosn – someone who will solely occupy themselves with scoring goals. But this guy seems like a really interesting option because he could play in several positions if injury struck the wide areas, for example. And it’s difficult to overstate the important of genuine pace in the modern game.
Let’s take look at the lad in action. Arsenal fans: a good potential move?
No Thanks!

Aubameyang is by far better than Walcott, he’s got the pace, poise and football brain. In my opinion it’s the English players at Arsenal who are overrated, except Rambo and the ox of coz. Am sorry, but you have no eye for talent and class
