So he’s only got one year left on his contract. And, if he does indeed want to leave Manchester United, there is a concern that the club wouldn’t get the best of him next season.
But, if Real Madrid want to sign David de Gea, and also maintain a working relationship with a club that has sold them David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo, then they are going to have to do a lot better than this. The Daily Mail reports on Sunday:
David de Gea tells Manchester United team-mates he wants to leave Old Trafford as Real Madrid prepare £13million offer
Under normal circumstances £13m would be a decent sum for a player with such a short contract. But we are talking about one of the top three keepers in world football. Whats more, he’s only 24 years of age. He can solve Real Madrid’s goalkeeping problem for a decade at least.
You might argue that Courtois and Neuer are better keepers. But, given the choice, we would take the Manchester United man every time. While the others can count power among their best virtues, De Gea is more of an artist – he has immaculate hands which hold on to even the toughest of shots. His distribution is second to none and he often resembles a top quality midfielder with his passing. On top of all this, he has the wow factor that the others don’t – De Gea is one of the few keepers in football history who is worth the entrance fee alone.
So come on Real Madrid. Don’t waste Manchester United’s time. £13m is insulting for a player who would get in any team in the world and is still 4-5 years from his peak. Madrid would still be getting a great deal for twice that amount.

IF the amount Real is offering is only a ridiculous €13M for De Gea then United should offer €5m for Benzema!
As the report above states, De Gea is one of the top goalkeepers and will only get better, so Real either offer a substantial amount, say €30M or forget about signing him!

Just let him run down his contract and move. There is no need for MUFC to be held into ransom. We have Champions League to look forward to so keeping him might just re cope the transfer fee. MUFC DOESN’T NEED ANOTHER CLUBS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. THIS IS A MATTER OF PRIDE THAN MONEY
