Still got it

Arsene Wenger is generally known for his prudence and caution in the market but reports today suggest that he may be about to have a punt on a true Hollywood signing for Arsneal.

The Guardian, amongst others, reports:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be making their jobs that much easier by bringing his repertoire of flicks, finishes and swaggering bombast to the capital this summer. Not just on holiday, either, but in a permanent arrangement also involving Arsenal and £11m.

You would scoff at the idea of spending £11m on most players who are going to turn 34 in October. And while the price may be a bit on the steep side, this is a player who could make a genuine difference in the balance of power next season.

He’s built like an ox and is still a very fit athlete who looks after himself. And, despite that ego, he is a hard working player whose hunger has driven him and his teams to notable successes over the years.

54 goals in 103 internationals for Sweden and a remarkable 340 career goals at club level for some of the best teams in the world – while we would suggest that this is a bit too extravagant a signing for someone like Arsene Wenger, we do believe that a player like this could win Arsenal the league – he’s a truly top class performer who will score goals against the top sides – and The Gunners have arguably lacked such a player since RvP left the club 3 years ago.

Let’s see him in action. Arsenal fans: worth a punt?
