Report: Arsenal preparing €34.2m Bid for Show Stopper

Without any real supporting evidence we have always retained the hunch that Arsene Wenger can be a little ponderous in the market. In the case of the defensive midfield Arsenal got a great season out of Francis Coquelin and this may has lessened the hitherto desperate need for reinforcements in that area.

But it looked for all the world that a deal would be done for the services of Morgan Schneiderlin this summer. At 25 he’s a better player that Coquelin and would add so much depth and solidity to that Arsenal line up.

But latest reports suggest that Manchester United have agreed personal terms with the lad and are ready to steal him form under the noses of their great rivals.

But, this could turn out to be a belong in disguise because Arsenal have reportedly lined up a player who we believe will be even better than Schneiderlin. The Independent reports:

Arsenal are preparing a £25m (34.2m Euros) bid for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia if they miss out on Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports.

Hyperbole rules in the modern game but we can’t overstate how impressed we have been with this 22 year old Frenchman. He has everything required to be an absolutely top drawer player for club and country for the next decade.

The first thing you notice when you see him play is how physically dominant he is. He covers every blade of grass and seems to win every 50-50. He is a lovely passer of the ball, can play in central defence or as an anchor man and he has amazing technical skill for a player who has grown up as more of a defender than creator.

Does it remind you of anyone? Dare we say he’s Vieira-esque? We think that Arsenal should definitely snap this lad up.

Let’s see him in action. Arsenal fans: Schneiderlin or Kondogbia?
