Manchester United’s on loan winger Nani looks set to move on for good this summer after a decent spell in Portugal at Sporting Lisbon. There he scored 11 in 34 games, but it doesn’t look likely to be enough to bring him back to Manchester United on a permanent basis. After 7 years of largely indifferent form at the club, that ship seems to have sailed.
While Nani himself may still be hopeful of returning full time, most Manchester need fans believe that the only remaining question is who will take him on.
Latest reports suggest that Inter Milan could be the most likely buyers as they consider a bid for the Champions League Winner. British media outlet, The Daily Mail, reports:
Manchester United winger Nani targeted by Inter Milan as they weigh up summer bid
Inter Milan are considering a fresh approach for Manchester United winger Nani.
Portugal international Nani has been on loan at Sporting Lisbon this year, with United paying the reported £110,000-a-week wages that were part of the lucrative five-year deal he signed in September 2013 under David Moyes.
He’s still a decent acquisition at 28 (29 in November) and would suit the slower pace of Serie A where his footwork may find a spiritual home.
Nani had some moments of frightening brilliance at Manchester United as he was able to flummox the opposition with quick feet and tongue press into cheek. But it was once said that his problem was being unable to control the genius and we think that sums him up perfectly.
Manchester United fans: Is it time to call it a day in trying to get Nani to perform to a consistently high standard?
