Manchester United were always going to have a big summer in the market. But the recent speculation, that they may also have to fill the void left by David de Gea, has given LvG even more to think about.

Victor Valdes showed moments of class against Hull but if the Manchester United boss really wants to build a Champions League winning side then he will at least have to bring someone in to provide Valdes with some competition.

Latest quotes suggest that Manchester United’s reported target, Hugo Lloris is unsure about his future and has made some interesting comments to that end. When asked about rumours linking him with a move to PSG he is reported to have said:

‘You should never say never, but my ideas are clear in my head, they are the same that I have had for the last 16-17 years.

‘Tomorrow, I don’t know, but today, I am in a different thought pattern.

‘Who knows what will happen, though. There is one important thing: at one moment I have to think about myself, to ask myself questions and reflect, but as soon as this moment is over and the season starts, you are fully involved in the club’s project.’

There has been a feeling that the lad wants Champions League football and we think that if Manchester United made a move the player would be tempted. At 28 he’s at the top of his game and has been in the top three keepers in The Premier League since he joined the North London outfit.

He does have a long contract however, until 2019, and any club wanting to buy him will have to dig deep.

Manchester United fans: is Victor Valdes good enough to be a successful number one at the club or do United need to attempt a move for someone of the quality of Lloris?
