Man U

PICTURE: How Manchester United should line up by September in a 4-2-3-1

Van Gaal: A man of character

Bewitching

Manchester United ideally need a right back, centre back, anchor man, right winger and a striker this summer. But they may have to prioritise as the sort of players that they are looking for won’t come cheap.

But there are additions which would clearly fit the system and would be available.

Asmir Begovic

De Gea looks likely to leave but Manchester United should sign Begovic either way – top keeper.

Nathaniel Clyne

He’s similar in style to Antonio Valencia. He’s a true athlete who works hard and never stops moving. But he is an upgrade on the Ecuadorean in several respects. He’s a better defender and, improbably, better in attack too. While Valencia has forgotten how to beat a man over the last few years Clyne cuts teams to ribbons with his attacking thrust. He delivers wicked crosses and has the pace and guile to beat a man. Manchester United simply must sign him.

Paul Pogba

Box to box magician. May not be the most defensively minded midfielder, but who cares! With him in the side Manchester United would simply outscore most opposition.

Gareth Bale

The perfect addition. With him on the right and Depay on the left, Manchester United would be superb to watch.

So here is the ideal XI for next season. Manchester United fans: agreed?

We have to sign more mid-fielders to play CL next season and currently, without Herrera and Mata, the Mid-field is rubbish… Jones and Smalling can do nothing in the central defence so we need to sign experienced defenders.

you right man! Herrera can’t be left out of this + a very aggressive central defender is needed at a moment…. by the way, what happen to our own Rafael Da silva? u guys are really sick with your sentiment.

We don’t need pogba,I am still okay if we either sign Vidal or Bastian. We also don’t need ikay,We have mata and herrera who can play and switch positions perfectly.perfectly. Hummels on the other way would be a perfect buy too because we lack a central defense through out the season and I believe I can pair him along side Jones who was outstanding this season and although some mistake made,I believe he can improve if he has a box to box defensive midfielder who can help and support the defense when ever the opponents are mounting pressure. We do need a high pace player and a world class player so I believe instead of bale or pogba I would still go for ronaldo to strengthening the attack and give the team more courage to attack.Chec would be my first option any day to replace De gea and Dani alves would be a nice buy for our right back position.position. Rojo blind and Shaw can play the left back but I think Shaw needs to go on loan or be sold.

So united should get Chec,Ronaldo,Bastian,Dani Alves and Hernandez back from Madrid..Gotze would be another additional talent that’s if space can be created for him to play constantly…Ibrahamovic would be a perfect substitution for Van Perisie

Well going on form I’d rather see Herrera than Di Maria because by the looks of it whatever he had has gone.

      I like your style 🙂

      —————De Gea——

      McNair –Smalling— Jones– Rojo

      —————–Carrick—

      —–Herrera—(Gundogan/Schweinstiger)

      —-Di Maria-Mata–Rooney

Really I think the team needs a CMF more than any other position as it frees up Rooney to play forward. As soon as Carrick has been out the side the team looks unbalanced. After signing the main priority the next would be getting in the numbers as the team struggles with injuries in all departments and this wouldn’t be a problem if they had the numbers.

I’d get Benteke to add the goals and power up front as RvP is constantly injured. He’s 24 built like a brick and is proven in premier league. He’s the best CF in the prem that plays outside the top ten teams never mind the top four.

i dont think bale and pogba are neccesary,,,,if de gea,,hugo lloris, clyne, rojo, otameni, blind,,perfect back 4 smalling and jones still to trained more,,rojo and otamendi and very ruged and combative…..Epl style ,,in midfield,,,herrera alongside strootman/ gundogan,,herrera talented midfield maestro while strootman provides physicallity and controlls pace of the game,,gundogan is master passe,,gaitan can come in front of d 2 guys,,creative in nature pacey and intelligent,he will improve the wingers,,,depa(lwf) young and energetic and pacey as well will play chelsea hazard role 4 us,,di mari(rwf) in form will destroy any defence,,gaitan will improve him due to their closeness,,upfront wazza d finisher,,we all know what know what he can bring to the table,,and the four attackers will invincible in a counter attack:pace, creative, clinical…Mata, fellaini, smallings, jones, valdes, young, shaw, wilson, chicarito to make bench,,,come on united

This is not an English line up we are making. You are maintaining English players and leaving out those making an impact. Except young. I even question Rooney being upfront next season.

  15. Jimmy Mac

    May 27, 2015 at 1:25 pm

Personally I think we are 7 or 8 players away from a squad that could challenge next season and I’d ship out 11 players. Neither of those things will happen obviously but I dont take football as seriously as some do, besides which I’m bored and am up for a bit of banter/discussion.

    Sell/release:
di Maria, RvP, Fellaini, Evans, Valencia, Powell, Cleverley, Lindegaard, Amos. Hernandez and Nani.

di Maria looks and plays like he simply doesn’t want to be at United. Van Gaal should get as much as he can for him and let him go to PSG.

RvP is a top performer when fit and on form. Sadly he is too injury prone and inconsistent to justify another contract and yet too good, and too highly paid, to let him rot on the bench or let his contract run out. If we can get £15m (and sell him abroad) I would snap it up if I were Van Gaal and buy Lacazzete.
I simply don’t like Fellaini as a player; hes too ponderous and clumsy (not a good thing when you already have Jones in the same team behind him) He is simply not United quality imho and never will be. He will never be able to justify his transfer fee, wages or his place in the first team once a proper dm and technically superior, more athletic and mobile players are brought in. The sooner he goes the easier it will be to progress from fairly ineffectual, lateral passing passing and possession to a more fluid, direct and effective build up and attacking style of play. Mourinho’s piss take assessment was spot on!
Evans is now 4th choice and has to go for his own good.
Valencia has been improving but isn’t a r/b and is a poor winger. With Coleman/Clyne, Otamendi (who also plays r/b) and Gaitan he will be superfluous and at 29 his sell on value will only continue to dwindle. United would save £10m in wages and perhaps make as much again in transfer fees if he were sold.
The decision to award Nani a 5 year contract was nuts. If United are offered anything for him they should take it just to move him off the wage bill but he will no doubt come back to his routine of playing a handful of inconsistent first team games which veer from world beater to disinterest in 2 halves and then back to the reserves/treatment room/bench/loan club to pick up his £6m a year.
If degea also decides to go we could reasonably expect to pull in approx £130m all told.

    Loan: Shaw, Blackett
We are well stacked for left backs/wing backs and Blackett looks a way off being ready for the first team but wont benefit from returning to the U21s.
Shaw’s continual breaking down is a real concern and the club’s lack of due dilligence on thoroughly investigating his fitness is pretty shocking gor such a massive business. I think he needs a run of competitive games without too much pressure on him to build up his confidence and strength but I fear his body may simply be too fragile for a career in the top flight of the game. He may end up having to take a couple of steps down which would be a great shame given his obvious talent and potential. Blackett needs to develop. Both players should go to the same club on loan, perhaps in the Eredivisie for a season.

    Buy:

    gk: Cech (if needed),
    rb: Coleman/Clyne,
    cb: Garay, Otamendi
    dm: Vidal/Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger
    rw: Gaitan
    cf: Lacazette

    Outlay approx £200m

    Net expenditure approx £70m

    gk: Degea ( Cech )/Valdes
    rb: Coleman/Clyne
    rcb: Otamendi/Smalling/McNair
    lcb: Garay/Rojo/Jones

What I really think is we have player who are still good on the bench and I believe with their first nee experience this past season they would do better next season.Lets just offload…The way I see it we don’t need to spend alot of money to get a very balance team.We should first try and loan or sell some players like Shaw, blackett,Januzai, evans,di maria..I do believe we shouldnt forget the mistake we made last season by not signing a central back and a defensive box to box midfielder affected us.I believe three or four major signings would be enough for manchester united secure the title and win the champions league…If we can get Bastian,Alves,Hummels,Ibrahamovic or Ronaldo I believe we would have a perfect squad with depay still there…Lets retain the service of playes like fellani, young, valencia, carrick, mata, herrera, blind, rojo for keeps

Personally I would buy a striker, rooneys on a downward spiral and will only be slower nx season and 12 goals this season is pathetic and lower than last season….clyne no fucking way. Rafael is a special player and we need to play him. A strong strong centre mid is needed….i would say Kondogbia from Monaco…he could be our Toure breaking up play attacking with intent and strength cos lets face it our centre mid is physically quite weak

Of all the comments id say jimmy mac was the closest to my way of thinking in terms of what I feel needs to happen during the summer. Having said that from what seems to be a done deal between arsenal n vidal (which im p***ed abt) we shud get nanngolan…not sure abt gaitan but I wud love to b proven wrong shud he arrive. Now I wudnt entertain havin ronaldo back and wud rather use that money towards 2 world class players. Getting otamendi is a must and so wud gettin bastian (we need more authority)…Ideally my team nxt season wud be:
    de gea/cech

    Mata/isco…rooney/benzema…depay
