Whether through design or financial constraints, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t really showed his hand in the transfer market for Spurs as yet. His tenure has been marked by a period of relative prudence in the market after the post-Bale splurge which had mixed results.
But you would hope that he would still have some sway with Southampton because a raid on them this summer would be great for Tottenham.
The Saints are doing brilliantly and will expect to hold on to most of their players. But Morgan Schneiderlin would be the one you would imagine will have a new club before next season starts – or by September at any rate.
Such is the interest in the 25 year old Frenchman that his club may find it almost impossible to keep him out of the clutches of other sides.
The Telegraph reports that his club have set a price of £25m for the signing of the lad. It’s great value for a player who, we believe, could walk into any team in The Premier League.
He’s the perfect anchor man and would certainly solve a long-term problem area for a Tottenham side who have tried many different players there with limited success.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: would this be the best use of the transfer kitty?
