There are several big issues for Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal to sort out this summer. What to do with the likes of RvP, Angel di Maria and Adnan Januzaj are perhaps chief amongst them. He may also need a new keeper before too long.
But one player who seems certain to leave Manchester United this summer is Radamel Falcao. The Colombian has only found the net four times in his 29 appearances for the club – hardly the stats of the prolific marksman that many of us remember.
He looked as if he might gain momentum after his initial entry into the side, but injury again deprived him of the run of games he needed. And he hardly got a look in in the second half of the season as Manchester United rummaged around for their best form.
And in an emotional message to the Manchester United fans, Falcao seems to be saying farewell. He tweeted
‘Thank you so much for the incredible support of the Manchester United fans all season. Unforgettable’
And, with that, you have to imagine that the lad has all but ended his time at Manchester United. A really sad finale to a career which promised so much at the club.
Good luck in your future career Radamel.
