4-2-3-1: Manchester United’s XI vs Hull with vital minutes for peripheral stars

United Hull

Test the squad

Manchester United are home and hosed in terms of The Champions League places and, unless Arsenal collapse in their last two games, it looks as if 4th place is the best that The Reds can hope for this season.

With everything done bar the shouting it’s surely time for Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal to give final chances to some of the peripheral stars of the squad.

Angel di Maria

We are amazed that he hasn’t played more minutes towards the end of the season. We are left to assume that LvG has already made his mind up that the Argentine is surplus to requirements.

We would like to give him one more season at Manchester United and he should certainly start this one to show what he can do.

RvP

Radamel Falcao has one foot out of the door already but RvP’s future is still the subject of some debate. He seems keen to stay but Manchester United may opt for youth next season. It’s difficult to see the Dutchman starting many games in a 4-3-3 formation. But if he is happy to be an understudy for Rooney then perhaps he might be a good player to have around. He should start this one to prove that he’s not finished.

Jonny Evans

It’s difficult to think of a player who has had a worse season than Evans. Had a chance to grasp the nettle after Rio and Nemanja left but he’s been awful. Last chance saloon, if fit?

Adnan Januzaj

Many hope that his future remains at Manchester United but a loan move may be the best option if he’s not quite ready for game time at Old Trafford.

Victor Valdes

Good enough to be No.1? Let’s find out.

With these issues in mind, here is our XI for the Hull game. Manchester United fans: let’s have your elevens.
