Tottenham: 39 goals in 71 caps and the perfect addition

Worth a punt

Tottenham will expect to have Harry Kane as their main man next season. But, if they are once more to traverse the arduous Europa League then they need some other options up top.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado have proven little except that they are good at earning lots of money. Tottenham need to shed with from the wage bill and add another quality forward.

One name that has been regularly linked with Tottenham is Javier Hernandez. Manchester United are unlikely to take him back on Louis van Gaal’s watch and the right honourable Daily Star says that Lazio are now trying to get in on the action:

After a year in which he’s hardly played at all we think that Chicharito would be happy to get some more minutes at Tottenham and he’s a much better bet than what Spurs currently have in reserve. He’s an extremely hard worker, a great man to bring off the bench when the opponents are tired and has the pace to flummox many a defender. 39 goals in 71 games for Mexico tells you that he can score at the top level too.

There is little not to like about Hernandez and, at 26, he’s still got plenty of miles in the tank.
