Even if you had only taken a fleeting glimpse at The World Cup and The Champions League over the past year you would have struggled to miss the sight of Paul Pogba doing his thing. While even some of the best players in the world (Mata, Messi) can become peripheral for parts of games, Pogba seems to be central to everything – in terms of position and significance.
Since he left Manchester United he’s become a household name and, far from dreading his departure, Juventus seem to be quietly licking their lips at the bidding war which will surely ensue for his services this summer.
If Chelsea do want to sign the lad they are going to have to move heaven and earth, plus a few players out of the door, in order to balance the books. Look at pretty much any newspaper this week and it will tell you that all the top clubs in Europe want him. The Guardian said:
Pogba has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer while his former club United, their neighbours Manchester City and the Premier League leaders Chelsea are also reported to be interested in signing the 22-year-old.
With Real Madrid and Barca (they can’t sign players until next January due to a transfer ban) also likely to be in the hunt, Chelsea will struggle to win the bidding war.
But we think that there is a player who can be every bit as good and will cost a fraction of the price. Chelsea have also been linked with Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson and we think that he can do everything that the Frenchman can. The Telegraph said last week:

Anderson can play as an anchor man, he’s box-to-box, has fantastic technique (perhaps even better than Pogba) and scores goals – 9 in just 35 league games for Lazio from the midfield. He’s also got electric pace which trumps that of Pogba.

The 21 year old Brazilian has a massive future and we could see him providing great thrust and fairy dust to a Chelsea side which must be getting close now to another Champions League final. Anderson could take them the extra yard.
