Surely Not: Manchester United to let their young superstar go permanently?

No Way

Latest reports suggest that Everton may make a summer move for Manchester United’s young star Adnan Januzaj in what could be a permanent deal.

Januzaj exploded onto the scene with two goals against Sunderland last season and was one of the few bright sparks in a dreadful campaign under then manager David Moyes.

But he hasn’t been afforded the same number of games under new Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal and The Manchester Evening News reports that Everton may come in for him in the summer:

Everton are ready to test Manchester United’s resolve to hold on to Adnan Januzaj with a renewed bid to sign the winger in the summer.

Louis van Gaal could be tempted to sell at the end of the season after Januzaj’s failure to establish himself at Old Trafford.

While we could fully understand Manchester United letting him go out on loan to Everton for three months in August, if his form hasn’t picked up, we find it hard to believe that the club would be prepared to sever ties completely with a player so highly regarded in world football. Even if Manchester United felt that he wasn’t fulfilling his promise they would surely be much more prudent to see how he performs out on loan before considering a permanent transfer.

This is a player of whom, lest we forget, Robin van Persie said not so long ago:

“Over the years I’ve seen so many young players, and I can honestly say that of all the young players I’ve seen he is right up there in the top one or two,”

Januzaj and Everton could benefit hugely from a loan spell but surely Manchester United aren’t going to sell such a promising young player, especially having had their fingers so badly burned with the sublime Paul Pogba.

Let’s see some of his better moments for Manchester United of late. Reds fans: a load of nonsense?
