Chelsea playmaker Cesc Fabregas has smiled through the pain after posting a picture of himself on Twitter.
The brilliant midfielder came a cropper in the match against Stoke last weekend, a game which Chelsea eventually won 2-1, and now has the bruises to show for it. Having broken his nose in the match, he will have to wear protective cast on his face this weekend, but that may not stop him from playing against QPR and he was full of beans in this shot.
Chelsea go into the game with only one major injury doubt, over Diego Costa and he looks certain to miss the game. But Cesc could play as The Sun reports:
CESC FABREGAS will wear a mask to protect his broken nose when he returns to action for Chelsea.
And it means he could be ready to face QPR in the Premier League on Sunday.
Fabregas hasn’t been quite the player that he was at the start of the season. Either through the opposition tracking him better, or due to him being withdrawn to a deeper role alongside Nemanja Matic, his assist rate has slowed. But he’s still comfortably one of the best players in the team and will be vital to Chelsea’s run in.
Let’s see some Cesc magic while we wait for his next masterclass. Chelsea fans: worth the risk?
