Man U

PICTURE: Who ate all the pies (chips, crisps, cakes and deep fried Mars Bars)?

Dear oh dear

Steve Bruce. A Manchester United legend who put his body on the line for years for his club in order to drag them through the tougher fixtures. If anyone deserves to enjoy themselves after their playing days, it’s him.

But if recent shots are anything to go by, he may have gone a little too far!

Let’s be clear that the modern fashion obsession with the ‘size zero’ is not healthy at all. But some might be concerned with the health of Bruce after the ex-Manchester United man was pictured with a belly which dwarfs the rest of his body and makes ‘Big Sam’ Allardyce look positively gaunt.

The ex-Manchester United man has admitted that he needs to have a look at his fitness after receiving some guidance from his lovely lady. The Daily Mail reports:

‘I don’t think too many 55-year-olds look that good on a beach do they,’ he said, ‘but I have promised my good lady I will go on a diet.

‘So watch out – I’m going to turn into the horriblest, most awkward b******d you have ever come across.

‘I have had some letters saying it’s nice to see someone relaxing in their own skin – not many mind!’

Hopefully he will heed the advice of his wife and get on the treadmill because Manchester United fans will want this living legend to be barking orders from the touchline for many a year to come.

Let’s remind ourselves of the brilliance of the man in his heyday at Manchester United with those seminal headed goals which brought the first title in 26 years back to Old Trafford and opened the floodgates for a period of unprecedented success.
