Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal to offload up to 10 more under-performing players in the summer transfer window?

Not good enough

It’s been another season in which Manchester United fans have little idea of whether their team is on the up or in terminal decline.

We still believe that Louis van Gaal can transform this side back into champions and he has already made lots of changes to the squad. But, with many of the playing roster still under-performing badly, he will surely wield the axe again in the summer as the revolution continues. Here are the players who we feel are most at risk of the chop.

Jonny Evans

His pre-season ‘blip’, when he kept giving the ball away under no pressure, has spread into a full-blown malaise. He has been Manchester United’s worst player this season – comically bad at times – and he won’t get many more chances at Old Trafford on this form.

Juan Mata

Still a popular figure amongst the United faithful but his exact function is still difficult to work out and his overall contribution to games isn’t big enough to warrant a regular place. Louis man well get rid while the club can still get a decent fee.

Maroune Fellaini

Surprisingly, he has been one of United’s better players of late. But his style simply doesn’t suit Manchester United long-term. Another who can generate cash ahead of a summer splurge.

Radamel Falcao

Just hasn’t done enough so far.

RvP

He will be 32 this year and we can imagine Manchester United rebuilding their strike force around Rooney and Wilson this summer. Two more strikers to come in? Dybala would certainly add some pace and dynamism.

Nani

There was talk, earlier in the season, about Nani’s scintillating form at Sporting Lisbon bringing a reprieve from Manchester United. Do me a favour. He had seven years worth of chances at United and never progressed after a decent start.

Tom Cleverley

20 games, no assists and no goals for the lad at Aston Villa. That surely tells you all you need to know about his future prospects at Manchester United.

Nick Powell

Looks too sluggish for United.

Anders Lindegaard

Pick your nose somewhere else.

Javier Hernandez

Hasn’t done much on loan at Real Madrid with 4 goals in 16 games. Louis likes more complete number 9s and Chicharito will be off this summer.

Manchester United fans: would you get rid of all these guys?

Smalling and /or Jones has to go to get two higher quality centre halfs. Not sure Mata will go (even though I agree with the sentiment above.

Not sure LvG likes Rafael too much, and I think its possibly also time to wave farewell to Valencia

Mata stays,Fellini stays, Evans, jones,Nani, cleverly,Powell, falcaou, all are likely gona be shown the door out.man utd need just three players, two cb and one winger and if they can blend in time will go places. It is time to give Andre hererer more playing time (mid field combo of hererer, carick,Fellini and mata) and Rooney & Wilson upfront.

sighning new players will not help coz there is already top players. The big problem is midfield and defence and that is due to the formation used by the manager. I don’t see any reason why herera is not starting while you need players like him to atack. It is clear that rvp and falcao can’t play together. Utd needs a leader on the back row to help macos, jones and shaw.

No problem with those players leaving the club. I would keep Mata though. I would add Jones to that list. Jones has never looked the part from day one. Evans has had a nightmare so he has to go to end that. The right back position will also be vacated in the summer. I would say we need about 6 players. I look forward to the summer, United are still in a process of change, this takes time so we must be patient. This job is much harder than LVG thought I believe. He will come good, I still trust the man. However he must play 442 with real wingers then he will see the real United.

Of the above mentioned names, first out the door HAS to be Evans!… then any 1 out of Jones and Smalling (if not both), Nani, Cleverley, Hernandez, RvP, Powell, and as someone has said already perhaps Valencia. Fellaini im not sure about as I like the fact that it keeps opposing teams guessing as he is a different option for us. Strange as this may seem but id keep Falcao (but negotiate a reduced fee) . loan Blackett and maybe even Wilson ( until Jan)…Lindergaard can go too!!…as for Mata…NO!…
