According latest reports, the agent of Dani Alves is set to speak to Manchester United about a move for his client in the summer. The Express writes:

Dani Alves’ agent to FLY to Manchester to discuss United deal

DANI ALVES’ representative is set to hold talks with Manchester United over a summer deal, according to reports.

Although there has been intense speculation about this one it doesn’t quite sit right with us. Alves has won pretty much everything worth winning in the game. He’s as exciting as defenders come – decent at the back but, going forward, he’s as adventurous and penetrative as many a winger.

But, at 32 in May, is he the sort of player that Manchester United should now be targeting? The club has shown its financial muscle over the last 12 months and looks set to continue the spend in the summer. But regardless of the size of the kitty Manchester Untied obviously need to remain prudent in the market. The signing of a hugely costly one or two season wonder, who would have no sell-on value, might be perceived as a little desperate.

With players like Seamus Coleman and Nathaniel Clyne coming through The Premier League ranks at such a rate, surely it would be much better to sign one of these guys and provide long term competition for Rafa da Silva, in what would become a really healthy area of the squad.

Nevertheless, let’s see some of the better moments of Alves. Manchester United fans: would you like to see him at the club or would you rather go for a younger player?

I don’t think Dani Alves is the kind of players Man Utd. Should go in for. Considering his age, he would not be the right choice of player we need.
