Manchester United: Club prepared to sell forwards to fund move for €80.3m man

United fans are yet to see the best of Di Maria

Settled?

There has been regular speculation about Manchester United star Angel di Maria, since he joined the club, and latest reports imply that PSG are still keen to acquire his services. The Star says:

PSG to fund move for Man Utd’s Angel Di Maria by selling Arsenal and Liverpool targets

PSG are reportedly desperate to sell Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi in the summer.

We do worry a little about the future of Angel di Maria at Manchester United. He has offered glimpses of the genius which lead Manchester United to fork out in the region of €80.3m to sign him in the summer of 2014. And perhaps it’s just a case of him taking time to settle in to a new country and way of playing – other Argentinians have certainly thrived in this league.

But he doesn’t always look that happy does he? And he sometimes gives the impression that he wouldn’t have minded a move to PSG. You could also argue that his form has got worse as the season has progressed.

But most footballers are happy when the team is playing well and the players all contributing. Neither can be said of Manchester United right now. But if Di Maria does get a regular position and the team starts playing the quick and spectacular football which rips the opposition apart again, then things can change quickly.

All we know right now is that Manchester United aren’t getting the most out of their highly gifted star. Hopefully his return from injury will coincide with better performances from the team and really offer the lad a platform to show why Manchester United paid so much.

But we will keep a concerned eye on this story.

Let’s see Di Maria in action for Manchester United.
