The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United are in talks with Brazilian outfit Internacional for a potential deal to take Anderson back to his homeland:
Manchester United misfit Anderson could leave Old Trafford in January as Brazilian side Internacional open talks over transfer
You might imagine that Manchester United fans would be annoyed with the lad for draining the financial resources of the club all this time. However, he remains a popular figure at Old Trafford despite the nosedive that his career has taken over the last few years.
But you could say that Pamela Anderson would have about as much chance of getting in the Manchester United team these days. Brazilian Anderson got on the bench for a recent first team game but he has largely been demoted to the reserves this season in what amounts to a borderline tragic career.
This was a player who was supposed to be going to the very top. But, at just 26, he’s in the last chance saloon.
The report states that Manchester United are so keen to get rid that they may actually be prepared to pay a fee to move him on.
It’s a really sad end to a career that promised so much. But it’s surely best for all parties now if the lad gets a fresh start and Louis van Gaal is allowed to continue his squad refit.
So perhaps it’s goodbye to Anderson, who will always be remembered fondly, and celebrated for his spot kick which helped Manchester United to glory in The Champions League final in Moscow in 2008.
