Curious one

Manchester United are reportedly one of the clubs interested in signing Belgium international Kevin de Bruyne. The Daily Mail says:

Kevin de Bruyne sparks Manchester interest

Wolfsburg are continuing to field enquiries for Kevin de Bruyne.

They know Manchester United and Manchester City have watched the Belgium international while Bayern Munich have also expressed an interest to the player’s camp.

De Bruyne, who has appeared 28 times for Belgium, has some experience in The Premier League having played for Chelsea between 2012-2014. But that period was punctuated by a couple of loan spells and De Bruyne only played 3 league games for the club before moving to Wolfsburg for £18m in 2014.

He’s only been there for a year and has done pretty well, scoring 9 goals and providing 18 assists in just 40 games for the club.

But there has been the odd bit of speculation in that time and now it seems that both Manchester clubs and Bayern Munchen could be keen.

At 23 De Bruyne is an industrious and confident winger who loves to come inside and shoot. He can also play in attacking midfield. But, as a winger, we feel that he may lack the pace to be a really top Premier League star. And we think that this is why Chelsea let him go in the first place. Much like Andre Schurrle, he ticks many of the boxes but not that vital one which is labelled ‘pace’.

And Manchester United are very much in need of more pace with a squad that only contains two speedsters in Luke Shaw and Angel di Maria. We like the player but feel that he wouldn’t be the best choice for Manchester United right now. We would take Memphis Depay way before De Bruyne.

Let’s see the lad in action. Manchester United fans: keen?
