We still feel as if there may be one or two pieces of big business taking place this week and, although it appears that Tottenham will be keeping most of their gun powder dry until the summer, they might have a cheeky punt before the end of the window if a bargain presents itself.
One player who has been regularly linked to Tottenham over the last few months is Burnley striker Danny Ings.
Today The Daily Mail reports that:
Tottenham would like to freshen up their attack but would prefer to sell a player first before bringing Ings in.
Spurs definitely need to have an overhaul of their front line before too long. Harry Kane has obviously been sensational but, apart from him, we think everyone else can leave. Soldado and Adebayor look like dead men walking at White Hart Lane and if Tottenham can get a decent offer for either before the end of this week, they might make a play for Ings.
As you will know this is a very interesting player. A mercurial type who is probably more of a number 10 than a target man. But he makes thing happen, scores goals and is adaptable enough to fill in in various positions. What he lacks in pace he makes up for in football intelligence and he’s apparently wanted by many clubs around Europe. The same source says:
Ings has offers from Germany, Spain and England with Manchester City one of the clubs to have shown an interest as they consider their homegrown quota.
Let’s take a look at the lad in a action. Tottenham fans: would you like to see Ings join in January or should you stick with what you have and have a proper reshuffle in the summer?
