Wow. It’s been a really boring window for Manchester United and some would say that this mirrors the football on offer right now!
But there was more defensive uncertainty at centre back last night against fourth division opponents. Marcos Rojo did a good job and looks as if he could be a long term solution for Manchester United. But Phil Jones had what could only be described as a shocker.
The fact that these two are arguably Louis’s best pairing won’t give him any confidence at all and many Manchester United fans would love to see another player arrive to plug the hole in January.
Latest reports suggest that this could be Aleksandar Dragovic. The Express reports:
MANCHESTER UNITED have launched a £15million bid for Dynamo Kyiv defender Aleksandar Dragovic.
The 23 year old Austrian, who has some 35 caps for his country since his debut in 2009 as a teenager, currently plies his trade for Dynamo Kiev. He’s been there since 2013 and has slowly become central to the plans of the team.
He’s got good feet for a man of 6ft 1in and also has decent pace. It’s hard to know for sure whether he would adapt to this league and to Manchester United but Nemanja Vidic did alright when he came from Spartak Moscow in 2006 didn’t he?
Let’s take a look at the yong man in action. Manchester United fans: can this guy make a difference to the team straight away or should the club now be waiting for a really accomplished centre back to become available?
