Real Madrid have reportedly won the race to sign the highly rated and much sought after Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva.
Having officially signed hot young prospect Martin Odegaard this week, we thought that this would be it for their January business. And although Silva may not come in to the club straight away, it does appear that they have beaten the likes of Arsenal to the punch on this one.
The Daily Mail reports:
Real Madrid set to sign Arsenal target Lucas Silva
Real Madrid have won the race to sign Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva from Cruzeiro, according to reports in the Spanish press.
Just 21 but Silva has shown great maturity in his career so far and that has won him 58 league appearances for his current side Cruzeiro since his debut in 2012. He has scored three goals in that time to illustrate that he can get forward to good effect.
But we see this lad more as a creator than scorer of goals. He looks as if he could be the eventual successor to the 29 year old Real Madrid pass master Luka Modric who has been in imperious form for the club this season.
The idea of Silva eventually teaming up with the superb Toni Kroos in the midfield is a tasty one indeed. Let’s see Lucas Silva in action. Real Madrid fans, is he ready or the first team now or should the club loan him out to get some more experience?
