Real Madrid

Real Madrid given price for their next Galactico?

Sometimes it’s difficult to appreciate how good player is until he joins your club. You see the odd great performance from him and hear rave reports. But, until you see him up close and personal, playing for your team every week, the penny doesn’t drop.

We strongly believe that this is the case with David de Gea. It’s easy to be underwhelmed by a big money goalkeeper signing. But believe us when we say that Real Madrid will be hitting the jackpot if they get this lad.

Because, he’s so good that he makes goalkeeping exciting. He absolutely reeks of class in everything he does and, over the last couple of years, he has been transformed from a player of promise to a world class athlete. Distribution 10/10. Handling 10/10. Shot stopping 10/10. Reflexes and Agility 10/10. And now he has beefed up he also has great command of his area.

Latest reports in England claim that Manchester United have put a price tag of £50m on their No.1 – in case Real Madrid are interested. The Express reports:

De Gea the £50m shot-stopper! Man Utd slap on mega price tag to stave off Real Madrid

If Real Madrid did sign De Gea they wouldn’t have to think about their goalkeeping situation for, at very least, half a dozen years. We don’t think it’s disrespectful to suggest that De Gea can emulate and even surpass the achievements of the great Iker Casillas. If Casillas was a super pro, De Gea is a genius with magic in his gloves.

Let’s see some more snippets. Real Madrid fans: would you be happy to spend so much on a keeper?
