It appears that the career of Kyle Naughton at Tottenham is coming to an end. The Guardian reports this afternoon that Spurs are close to doing a deal with Swansea for the adaptable full back.
Swansea agree fee of £5m for Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton
Full-back discussing personal terms for move to south Wales
Naughton signed for Tottenham from Sheffield United in 2009. He’s been at the club for five years but the 26-year-old has only played 74 Premier League games for Spurs in that time.
His time at the club has also seen loan spells to Middlesbrough, Norwich and Leicester. He’s always been well liked by many Tottenham fans and can play on either flank.
But with De Andre Yedlin – who we think is going to turn out to be a real find for Tottenham – coming in to add to a roster which includes, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier and Ben Davies (with Vertonghen also more than capable of playing left back) Tottenham obviously feel that they can do without the lad.
He will, however, surely leave with the best wishes of everyone at Tottenham. Let’s see surely the best goal he will ever score – even if he plays until 80.
Tottenham fans: are you still well covered in the full back areas or would you like to add another player in January?
