No matter how well he plays – and let’s face it, this season has been his best at Real Madrid – the rumours about a transfer just seem to follow French star Karin Benzema everywhere. In truth, although he has always scored at a decent rate for Real Madrid, he hasn’t always been as prominent as this season.
But you do feel that this or next season could well be the last of his Real Madrid career. The club are always looking to keep things fresh and that means new strikers every few years.
The latest to be linked to a big money move to the Bernabeu is the ruthless Uruguayan hit man Edinson Cavani.
After a couple of seemingly unsatisfying years in France at PSG the striker appears ripe for a move and Real Madrid are said to be the latest suitors. The Daily Star reports:

What can we say about this lad expect that he would be an almost guaranteed success at the Spanish giants. He’s a decent all-rounder but he’s really all about scoring goals. 193 of them so far in his club career, including 104 in 138 for Napoli and 39 in 66 for PSG. He has the strike rate of a really top forward and, at 27, the 6ft 2in hit man looks as if he is ready for the final big challenge – a move to Real Madrid would represent the perfect move.
We would love to see him test himself in Spain. We think that Benzmea may be a better all round player but Cavani is a finisher and would score silly amounts of goals in La Liga at Madrid.
