Chelsea hardly look as if they need to invest heavily right now. But there is a sense that Jose Mourinho is in it for the long haul at Chelsea this time and wants to build a lasting legacy rather than just a title winning side.
Consequently the club appears more committed than ever to identifying the talent of tomorrow as well as the stars of today.
One player whose name will already be familiar to many a Blues fan is Daley Sinkgraven. He’s been mentioned in relation to a Premier League move and a Chelsea scout has admitted that he has been tasked with monitoring the lad. The Express reports:
CHELSEA scout Piet de Visser has revealed the club’s interest in 19-year-old Dutch starlet Daley Sinkgraven.
“On Daley Sinkgraven, I find it very difficult to say anything because I’ve agreed with Chelsea that I will not speak about the talents that are on our list.”
“I follow him and that goes beyond watching a game from time to time.”
Sinkgraven hasn’t yet played for the senior international team but is hotly tipped to become a mainstay of the Holland side over the next few years.
He’s currently plying his trade with Heerenveen in Holland, where he is slowly being integrated into the team – he’s on 23 league appearances and 2 goals right now after breaking into the side last season.
He is pretty raw and has admitted that he feels he is too young for a big foreign move right now. But, his performances are drawing increasing attention and this is a player who ticks all he boxes for a young Chelsea signing who is sent back out on loan to finish his tutelage.
But he is a very silky and exciting looking player indeed. Let’s see him in a action. Chelsea fans: could he do damage for your first team any time soon?
