Manchester City have some sensational players in their squad. And many onlookers would take Sergio Aguero as their first pick if they could have just one.
David Silva would of course come into the reckoning because he hasn’t given the ball away since 2004.
But, while these players are absolutely integral to Manchester City’s success, there are arguably other players just like them and just as good in the world game.
But when we look around the football landscape we don’t see one single player with the same qualities as Yaya Toure. He is an absolute beast of a man and looks as if he is going to literally run THROUGH the opposition at times. But then you see his unbelievably subtle and cultured touch and you think ‘is this guy real?’.
Toure would be the one we take every single time. In a heartbeat. Because he has been the heartbeat of the City side during the most successful period in their history.
We know that he has had his run ins with the club but, as neutrals, we find him exhilarating to watch and he’s easily our favourite Manchester City player. And what’s more, he’s a player who will be virtually impossible to replace. Which is why his latest comments could be deemed as worrying for City fans:
When asked about whether he will be a City player next season he said:
‘That’s a big question and that’s an easy question as well, and you have an easy answer… we’ll see.
‘I don’t know (if I’ll stay). I’m at City. City is a great club where I’ve achieved lots of things.’
City will obviously be planning ahead already but this will be a particularly difficult player to replace. The only two players that we can see who might play a similar role for the club are Ross Barkley and Koke – but neither are anywhere near as good as Toure right now.
