Seriously Louis, Sort It Out – This has to be the 1st name on the team sheet at Manchester United

Van Gaal: A man of character

No Brainer

We think that Louis van Gaal is a top coach and has been an absolute breath of fresh air in The Premier League in terms of his personality. His honesty is disarming and it makes a nice change from coaches like Jose Mourinho who, despite their brilliance, are just a bit too Machiavellian at times for our liking.

Will he do the business at Manchester United? Will he return them to the top of the pile? Yes, we still think that he will.

But there are a few things that he must fix – elements of the team that are crying out for changes.

We aren’t saying that RvP is washed up. But he certainly hasn’t had a great season and he hasn’t enjoyed a stellar partnership with any striker at Manchester United. He and Rooney got in each other’s way and now the same is happening with Falcao.

At 31 RvP’s time at Manchester United may be severely limited. But, at 28, Radamel Falcao can be the main man, the saviour for the next three years.

LvG simply has to play this lad up top on his own for a month and see what happens. Play Rooney at No.10 and give Falcao some wingers to feed off. Only then can Louis make a proper judgement about the player. He knows all about van Persie and he’s not exactly thriving right now.

Meanwhile, Falcao is crying out for game time and it would be crime if his career just fizzled out at Manchester United. The change would clearly put RvP’s nose out of joint. But LvG’s task is to get United playing like champions again and we believe that a 4-4-2/4-2-3-1 or even a 4-3-3 would make this a much better, quicker and more scary side.

When you look at what Falcao can do (below) you can’t ignore him – especially on his wages. But the video clip shows that he likes the freedom to roam up top on his own.

Manchester United look cluttered on the field of play right now. The solution has to be four at the back and just one up front. Get rid of a striker and a defender and add two wingers – job done.

Check out these ludicrous goals and then tell me that Falcao shouldn’t be starting every game…

Agree totally. We want to finish in the top four then we must play the strongest team including mata and not fellaini. Play rafael at right back. Drop Valencia. Play Wilson also. Crying out for goals and our manager dropping top players. Wake up van gaal or go back to Holland. Your ego is a disgrace. A world class manager who doesn’t know his best team. Stewards enquiry. The jury is out and with this poor football you didn’t even learn anything from Leicester when 3 1 ahead you took off di maria and we list 5 3. Van gaal you aren’t convincing me you deserve to stay.
