He’s become one of the best wide men in The Premier League over the last couple of years and Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for Seamus Coleman over the past few months.
And it’s easy to see why. Not only have Manchester United got issues on the right side of their defence – Rafael Da Silva is constantly injured and Tony Valencia was only ever going to be a stop gap for that position – but the player himself seems perfect for the club.
He is a really solid stopper but has the sort of adventure and buccaneering attitude that Manchester United fans love to see from their defenders. The Daily Mail today published an image of a younger Coleman wearing Manchester United colours – a team he was fond of as a lad.
It is only right to point out at this stage that there is no suggestion whatsoever that Coleman is anything but happy at his current club. After a year in which he has shown sensational form there is no reason why he would want to disrupt this momentum and leave Everton.
But The Daily Mail, among many other media outlets, has suggested that Manchester United will make a move for the lads before too long:
Seamus Coleman: the rise and rise of Everton’s brightest talent who could soon be heading to Manchester United
It seems that Rafael da Silva will need to play out of his skin if he wants to keep his place at Manchester United beyond this summer. And that has to start with added composure instead of jumping into challenges as he so often does.
Let’s see Coleman in action. Manchester United fans: would you prefer him or Nathaniel Clyne?

i have a message for man utd , you can try to unsettle seamus coleman all you want, he is a registered everton player, don’t try the dirty tricks you used in the past to get rooney and beckham in the past, i recommend a punishment for such a club as yours, relegation from the premiership for interfering with another club’s player

Assholes! He was 12 years old! At that age, Gerrard, Owen & Carragher were wearing Everton shirts.
