Manchester City

Deal Agreed: Another transfer straight after Wifried Bony

Busy at Manchester City isn’t it? They don’t muck about. Fresh from signing Wilfried Bony from Swansea – a player we think will make a really big difference in the title race – Manchester City have let Matija Nastasic go out on loan, according to reports. And we know it’s true cos it’s that beacon of verity, The BBC saying it:

Manchester City have agreed to loan defender Matija Nastasic to German side Schalke until the end of the season.

The player himself has also been quoted as saying that he has no problem with the boss:

“No, everything was alright. It was hard for me – in six months I didn’t play one game. I wanted to go because for my career it’s best to play a lot of games.”

We think Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini is a top manager and a top man. We like the way that he gives Jose Mourinho such a short shrift for starters. And he’s obviously taken a really close look at this youngster before making a decision about letting him go. But we still think that the lad has real quality and it’s not a given that he will move from Manchester City for good. If he can demonstrate increased maturity and consistency to go with the talent over the next six months then perhaps Manchester City will want him back in the summer – particularly if Eliaquim Mangala continues to struggle.

Manchester City fans: are you happy with the current defenders that you have in the squad or do you think that the departure of Nastasic will lead to another defensive signing this winter?
