Potential

He may not be the established defensive kingpin that Manchester United fans crave. But, on the back of the signing of Victor Valdes last week, the club is demonstrating it’s wide ranging reforms by snapping up a highly rated youngster.

The Daily Mail reports:

Manchester United have agreed to sign young Fulham striker Kayne Diedrick-Roberts.

The 15-year-old was released by the Craven Cottage club because they already had three promising strikers for his age group but United believe he has potential to improve and have given him a contract.

So, interestingly, this wasn’t even a case of Manchester United piling in with big bucks to snare a gem who the selling club wanted to keep.

But, the new scouting department at Manchester United clearly feels that this guy has the potential to succeed at the club.

Diedrick-Roberts is said to be an adaptable player who can perform as winger, midfielder or number 10.

He has impressed for Fulham but will apparently sign professional forms with Manchester United on July 1st.

Manchester United have already shown a desire to be active int he market tis January. The addition of Valdes gives United much more depth in goal. But it’s in the defence where the fans will hope that some serious cash is parted with in January. Because Sunday was a microcosm of the defensive frailties at the club this season with bad communication and generally ponderous play amongst the back line.

But, on a brighter note, let’s hope that this young lad can make a name for himself in the coming years at Manchester United.

I´m disappointed to say that Van Gaal is just too long in the tooth to lead united. With his reputation of giving youth a chance he should have given Wilson and Januzai a few consecutive games. But what did we have? Old Van Persie , his dutch compatriot, and the has been Roonie taking pride of place.
Let´s face it, Southampton lost their 6 best players and Koeman or whatever steps in and buys players on the cheap, unlike Van Gaal´s 150 million and beat united – should have won both times.
Van Gaal has fixations: watch his notepad.
442 was his system but it changed to 532 with the worldcup. It is fixed and that is his philosophy that we have to suffer. Louis, where are your balls and bring back the guillotine!

LVG is a good coach but what he has to do is making his defence strong by using guys like Smalling,Jones,Rojo and Valencia As our Rafeal is not back on line yet.. And our midfield by using guys like Heirera,Rooney,Mata and Di maria.. And strickers like Falcao and V.persie…. In my own way i belive Man u can improve from there, and i know we can qualify for the UCL and buy new players for the team…. IN UNITED WE STAND
