With Manchester City expected to tie up a move for the brilliant Wilfried Bony over the next 48 hours, Chelsea have reportedly come in with a late bid to sign the prolific striker, who is said to be valued at £30m by his club. City are said to be willing to pay £25m and this could open the door for a cheeky Chelsea move.
Gary Monk said of the price tag:
“Unless they reach the valuation we hold . . . then obviously no business can be done,” said Monk.
Chelsea ready to hijack Man City’s £30m move for Swansea’s Wilfried Bony
according to reports, Chelsea are lurking should the talks break down.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is said to have had Bony scouted several times this season.
Bony has been a sensation since he came to The Premier League at the beginning of last season. He’s scored 34 goals in 70 games for a sometimes struggling side and proven himself to be very well-suited to England. The 26 year old tank also has 32 caps for the Ivory Coast, scoring 11 times.
Chelsea have a powerful strike force right now. But with Didier Drogba coming to the end of his career Bony seems like the ideal replacement. He’s a powerhouse of a number 9 but also has the silky touch reminiscent of Droggers.
We think that he will be a sensation wherever he goes. He’s got all the making of a true Premier League great. Let’s take a look at him in action.
Chelsea fans: would Bony be a brilliant addition or is he too similar to Diego Costa?
