It’s silly season folks and the clubs with the bottomless pits of cash are the main targets for the madness. Various reports today suggest that Manchester City could be ready to bolster big time in January after a year of comparative prudence in the market.
The Sun reckons that City will make a move for forgotten man Christian Benteke this winter. The injuries to Dzeko and Aguero have laid Manchester City’s attack bare and we wouldn’t be at all surprised if they make an overdue bid to replace Alvaro Negredo this winter. The Sun says:
CHRISTIAN BENTEKE is being eyed by Manchester City as an answer to their striker crisis.
He’s ready to explode again after injury and we this he would be a top signing for the club.
If they can’t get him they will go for Wilfried Bony, according to The Mirror. Another powerhouse who is almost as wide as he is tall, he’s proven his Premier League class at Swansea and is clearly ripe for a big move. Another player who we feel could improve any squad.
The Daily Mail opines that City will make Ross Barkley a priority target for January as Everton are apparently willing to let him go. Not sure that they would ever be prepared to offload a local lad of this talent but money talks and you can’t imagine the young genius playing his whole career at his current club. Manchester City would struggle to make a better signing than this guy.
Let’s have a look at Bony in action. Manchester City fans: is he good enough for the Champions?
